7 Day Sierra Youth Expedition Course


This course is designed to train and prepare future leaders to assume the role of leadership with confidence and competence. This course is designed for the student who has had little to no experience in the outdoors. The 7 day expedition will provide the skills and experience necessary to build a foundation for developing the individual as a leader.

The adventure leadership course will take place in the southern Yosemite region of the Sierra Nevada. Students will experience the beauty and the challenge that the mountains are able to provide. Surrounded by Ponderosa Pines, granite cliffs and alpine lakes the students will be led through a graduated process of wilderness experiences.

Upon completion of this course the student will gain confidence in a group of his or her peers. Each student will be provided the opportunity to participate in the group as a leader. Students will also demonstrate their comprehension of the curriculum as they practice skills such as, backpacking, camping, cooking, climbing and rappelling.
