The locations we can take you…

If you can find it on a map, Summit can take your group there. We are not limited by location, only by your budget constraints and creativity. That being said, here are a few areas we are experts in:

Eastern Sierra

Yosemite, Sierra National Forest, Ansel Adams Wilderness & more. Spectacular granite, pristine alpine lakes, clear skies and dry weather.

California

Death Valley, The Mojave & Joshua Tree National Park. The deserts of California make for great backpacking and climbing trips in the winter and late fall.

Ecuador

The “Jewel of the Andes.” Stunning mountain ridges, gleaming glacial slopes, and the mysterious grasslands known as the paramo.

The Holy Land

Jerusalem, Bethlehem and Nazareth. Embark on a trek for four days from Nazareth to the Sea of Galilee along the Jesus Trail.

Patagonia

Argentine Patagonia. One of the world’s last wild places. Towering craggy peaks, pristine blue lakes, and windswept ice fields.

Mt. Rainier

Icy blue crevasses, wind-sculpted snow structures, and ancient flowing glacier. Mt. Rainier is the highest point in the Pacific Northwest.

What components are a part of our courses?

If you can find it on a map, Summit can take your group there. We are not limited by location, only by your budget constraints and creativity. That being said, here are a few areas we are experts in:

Adventure

All our courses have some type of adventure component that will push you outside your comfort zone. Whether it is hiking to an alpine lake or attempting to Summit a 19,347′ stratovolcano in Ecuador, Summit has decades of experience in facilitating outdoor adventure activities.

Rappelling • Backpacking • Rock Climbing • Mountaineering • Ice Climbing • Nordic Skiing • Backcountry Skiing

Service

Service is a huge part of our culture at Summit Adventure. All our international trips have a service component, where we work along-side locals and get the chance to learn about their culture and help them with some small task. Many of our students have said that this is the most impactful part of the experience. For our College Semester Program, service is interwoven throughout the whole semester. On our wilderness adventures we emphasize the importance of serving others in the group.

Learning

At Summit Adventure, we have instructors and facilitators, not guides. We want your time with us to be a learning experience. Whether that is learning about culture, outdoor skills, caring for the wilderness or how to communicate better, we want you to walk away having learned something. Our courses and programs push you intellectually, emotionally and spiritually and you will certainly be asked “what have you learned on this trip that you can apply to your life back home?”
